Like our Kingston 1669 granola, this bread marries something endemic to North America—sunflower seeds—with something the colonists brought that was fundamental to their lifestyle—flax. This “white” sourdough bread features New York-grown Glenn wheat that is sifted lightly to remove large pieces of bran but keep in the nutrient-rich germ in a way that purportedly dates back to at least the 16th century.
